You can only imagine my surprise when I came across an old barrel in my basement, full of papers from two owners ago. Inside the barrel were many personal documents, which I destroyed, but amongst the bank slips and canceled checks I found some interesting music magazines, all in excellent condition.
The pamphlets were used in the 1950's and 1960's as educational tools for students. It's a shame to think of the state of musical programs in today's schools; they are practically non-existent or very limited. My favorite of the booklets is the 1960 volume on Poland, which honors the post-war country. You can take a better look at the Young Keyboard Jr. magazines in my etsy shop, here.
